Picky Detail about Proposed Deletions

[edit]

Hi, Gamesmasterg9 I noticed that you put some prod code on a couple of articles, but it didn't get a date stamp. I'm not sure what was up with that. I added dates, so the five days just started. It's not a big deal, but it slows down the process. With prod, the five days starts right away. For more info, check out Proposed Deletion. Hey, in other news, I'm a Northwestern grad, too. Cool.

Amrita Rao

[edit]

Hello, Gamesmasterg9, I noticed your contributions to Amrita Rao's article. Why did you remove the links for her movies? Doesn't it make it easier for people to just see the movies and be able to click on them? Best regards, --Plumcouch 20:05, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

whoops -- sorry

[edit]

Hello, Gamesmasterg9, totally my mistake. You're absolutely right and I apologize. It's late here - chalk it up on not enough sleep. Best regards, and sorry again, --Plumcouch 20:09, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

Hallo, Gamesmasterg9. Generally, when I look out for pictures, I choose the newest movie an actor/an actress has made (because new movies have generally lots of pics on the net). If it is an Indian actress, I go over to Indiafm.com, Glamsham, Radiosargam or IndiaGlitz (for Tollywood/Telugu etc.) and see, if they have wallpapers or stills of that movie. However, there's a difference between officially released wallpaper and home-made stuff from the websites. The first wallies to appear on the net are usually those released by the production company of the movie - homemade wps are released later and normally don't look as professional as the production company's ones - however the websites are improving, so it's difficult to tell the difference in some cases.

I choose one where you can see the face of the actor/actres, crop it if necessary and improve satuaration and stuff. Then, I try to find via IMdb or Google what the Production Company and/or the copyright holder/distributor is and add everything into a fair use rationale (generally, I use something like this [1] as a fair use rationale). Then, I upload everything, choose an approriate tag (like promo, poster, still or something) and voilá, done. User:Yamla has a very sharp eye on copyright violations and since he almost never complained, I think this way works quite well. When in doubt, I visit articles which have reached featured status like Lindsay Lohan and look for their pictures and fair use rationales - those have to be correct, otherwise the article wouldn't have been featured. I hope this helps.

Best regards, --Plumcouch 14:55, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Samit Basu

[edit]

Hi, I notaced that you added Samit Basu to the credits of the Virgin Comics 'Devi' article. I was wondering where you heard this - im interested to know, because ive been following the progress of those comics, and the addition of an Indian fantasy novellist would be cool. Thanks. Vastu 15:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Vatsu,
Samit is a personal friend, so the information is straight from the horse's mouth, as it were. He has finished writing issue #3, and it should hit the stands in September. He tells me he's planning to change the tone of the comic completely.Gamesmaster G-9 18:48, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thats really cool to hear. I was a bit worried after reading the first issue that the comic was superficially desi, (i.e. had Indian references), but underneath, lacked eastern styles and philosophy. When I saw the wiki saying Samit was going to be writing, I was very interested, and now im even more interested after you have mentioned that the comic will be taking a new direction. I think a fantasy novellist like Samit is the perfect addition to the project, and im really looking forward to the upcoming issues now.
I created the wiki article on the comics, and have been updating them every now and again. These comics could be to be to India, what manga is to Japan, and manga is one the most expressive and sophisticated mediums of storytelling that I know of. Thanks for the information, and give Samit my encouragement :-)

Magazine covers?

[edit]

I thought scans of magazine covers, if the name of the magazine appeared in the image or the caption, was fine, and have been so advising people. I don't think we've had any complaints from magazines. What's the story?

If we can't use magazine covers, WHERE do we get pictures of Bollywood actors? Zora 23:03, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's your say?

[edit]

Hey thanks for updating Rani's page. It sounds much more professional. Thanks again. But don't you think her magazine qualified? Because I put it in personal life where she was supposedly having an affair with Govinda. I think you should put that magazine back and cover the story or find a new magazine picture for her because magazines tell a lot about the person in the article. shez15 19:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Amrita Rao Fansite

[edit]

Hey thanks Gamesmasterg9 for re-enabling my link. I would definitely like to contribute to the main Article and do some modifications maybe in a day or 2. By the way I had also added the link to the German version of Wiki at http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amrita_Rao which was removed, I guess by the same person. I've made the changes there also. Thanks once again for your help.

User:Ikonoblast's edit-warring on Votebank

[edit]
I have reported him for a WP:3RR violation on the article on

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/3RR

If you would like to comment on this situation and what seems to be his uncivil and derogatory tone towards you (and, more recently towards myself) in his edit summaries and talk page posts, then I would suggest leaving comments here:

Thank you and have a nice day.Hkelkar 10:54, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He has been unblocked because he "promised to behave" (see his talk page). He has also done similar edit-warring on Lalu Prasad Yadav over the fact tat I put NPOV tag on a section because of a pending RfC on the article. He has promised to behave, so hope springs eternal...

I had promised to relax only. Ikon |no-blast 11:35, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rani Mukerji

[edit]

Hey, I love your edits! You're an amazing writer. I just needed one favor. If you could guard Rani Mukerji's page from Zora. She seems to cut down all the essence and only keeps a paragraph in the whole article. I don't know why she thinks everything written on that article is not encyclopedic. I'd really appreciate your help. I've worked three months on that article to make it what it is today. Pa_7 and other editors have helped me make it possible. When you improved the grammar, the article was a winner itself. You really did a great job. Keep it up. And if you can add other references and other things, that will be nice too. Just keep Zora from cutting everything. Thanks! -- shez15 19:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I am sure about that. I live in Ahmedabad and studied in one of the schools. There are many schools named St. Xavier's in Gujarat. There is St. Xavier's Loyola, Mirzapur, Gandhinagar, Surat and Bhuj. All of them were founded by the same institution - Society of Jesus and have the same logo, uniform and other rules. The Mirzapur article has been copied nearly verbatim by someone from the Loyola article (the latter article was my first article on wikipedia). But as the information is correct, I don't think there is any need to remove information from the Mirzapur article. - Aksi_great (talk) 18:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you insist on putting up measurements (even though there is NO guarantee that they're correct) and making references to love affairs and scandals? The former is offensive to women, and the latter is against the WP:BLP policy. I will raise the model infobox issue at the Village Pump (policy), but for the latter, it would be sufficient to complain to an admin. I don't WANT to do that, since you've otherwise been doing good work, but prurient gossip is just not what we do. Zora 09:19, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see much consensus on removal or use of scripts, but I think we can at least have some consensus on issues such as order of scripts -- it can avoid stupid edit wars (see history of Belgaum for example). If there is no clear consensus on the order of scripts, we can go for a straw poll. utcursch | talk 11:18, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:EnglishAugust.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EnglishAugust.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Replaceable fair use Image:RakhiSawant.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:RakhiSawant.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:MamtaKulkarni.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:MamtaKulkarni.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 13:58, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Detective Department (Kolkata Police), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Detective Department (Kolkata Police) is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Detective Department (Kolkata Police), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Rinki Kapoor

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Rinki kapoor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alexius08 (talk) 04:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mandakini RTGM.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Mandakini RTGM.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, you had stopped by this article after a Rfc I posted. I'm dealing with at least one stubborn editor who is not only jealously guarding the article against edits by non-Sindhis (her words), refuses to respond to requests for discussion. I don't want to move arbitration just yet, but I can't find any precedent for a situation where one party refuses to talk. Any help would be appreciated.

Gamesmasterg9, I really don't understand what is your problem. You are the one being stubborn who reverts my edit every morning I wake up. I don't have a problem with non-Sindhis contributing, but you're not contributing anything, you are just reverting and not making progress. Any edit I make, I provide a link for its validity. You should really explain your actions. In the future, I would like you to discuss the changes you want with me, instead of just reverting the whole thing. -Skatergirl —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skatergal (talkcontribs) 12:52, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I came to give some advice but

[edit]

...now that I see how much spam tagging you've done on India-related articles, I'll probably come to you for advice a lot. I often have a feeling that I just don't know enough to make good speedy deletion calls, especially involving schools. Anyway... I'm here about Prasad Bidapa, I always leave a note with the tagger when I decline a speedy. Generally, when an article is tagged for db-spam and there's an earlier version in the history that was accepted, especially by someone who works with speedies a lot, then the preference is to revert to the last non-spammy version rather than deleting, and I've done that reversion. Should I have included some of the later edits, do you think? Should we still delete the article? (Watchlisting) - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 03:08, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of articles show up in the db-spam queue that are about Indian educational or community service organizations. I'd like to get some feedback from some Indian editors on how to handle these; is there some website or some kind of search that would help us decide which institutions are notable? For instance, New article appearing on wikepedia has a link to un.org that mentions the subject favorably; is that important? - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 11:43, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sindhis

[edit]

Re:Hi. I have been watching the article for a while, and you are right - there has been some vandalism by certain Pakistani editors. I also wanted to let you know that I had to make some changes to the article, as it had acquired a very heavy anti-Muslim slant. I realise that the partition of India is a sensitive issue, but the facts need to be presented in as neutral a manner as possible. Gamesmaster G-9 (talk) 07:22, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi Gamesmaster, the content that you have deleted was showing the reason why we have Sindhi community in two different countries, there was very little anti-muslim slant. Its sad to see all my efforts just wiped out this way. - K Melwani 24 June 2009

I have made a few changes to make this article neutral. I have edited Sufism, Post 1947 and a few other minor edits. The Sindhi surnames section has been added as the 'ANI' and 'JA' suffix is an important part of the Sindhi identity. I will constantly monitor this page to ensure its neutrality. - K Melwani 24 June 2009

A tag has been placed on Juju (Chandrabindoo album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. fetchcomms 00:18, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Bhanu Athaiya.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Bhanu Athaiya.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 18:06, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:24, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ignacio Fernández Toxo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bazan. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Samit2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Samit2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.

You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:05, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I wanted to let you know that I reverted your edits to Tumanbay to return it to a disambiguation page. I then created the new page Tumanbay (Radio). I felt this was more clear in terms of keeping to the naming convention of WP:NC-BC for the radio page, and keeping the disambiguation page useful. I hope that I haven't violated the spirit of what you were trying to accomplish with the new page. If you have questions, please feel free to write something on my talk page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 06:10, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Antonio de Noli Academic Society

[edit]

Hello Gamesmasterg9, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Antonio de Noli Academic Society, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims importance/significance of the subject. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. SoWhy 09:35, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@SoWhy: I declined the related Alberto Peluffo for similar reasons, but was reverted so took it to AfD (which is a general procedure I do on the incredibly rare occasion that this happens). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:47, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article SWEDHR

[edit]

According to Wikipedia instructions, I also post here this warning notice aimed to prevent further vandalising of article on Swedish Doctors for Human Rights, SWEDHR https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Doctors_for_Human_Rights. Toverster (talk) 14:46, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is the second warning ref. vandalism of the article “Swedish Doctors for Human Rights” which I notify you according to “Wikipedia: administrator intervention against vandalism”. I also let you know that I am reporting the incident to Wikipedia administrators. In your revert in full of the said article, you have solely dropped a ”WP:COI” without explanation. While I absolutely contest your insinuation, I would much welcome that you formalise your complain to COI administrators (the COI noticeboard), now. That would enable a COI investigation associated with your consistent disrupting behavior directed against a true description of the organization “Swedish Doctors for Human Rights”, including the arguments you had when you proposed/supported back in 2017 the deletion of the Wikipedia article about that organisation. Toverster (talk) 15:10, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Toverster (talk) 15:40, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

For the record: Do take note of administrator El_C's comment at the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, [3] that edits should not be reverted solely on the base of COI allegations. Toverster (talk) 17:14, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nicole Maines; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 02:07, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
